So is a Mansun reunion really a strong possibility? The Q&A doesn't really suggest so as Paul says Chad isn't interested & reuniting without Stove would make you question why they didn't just carry on originally with a different bassist. We await some more concrete info within the next few weeks.

Exactly, Kleptomaniac...without Chad and Stove, now it isnt Mansun, is it? Just Andie playing drums in Paul's backing band. Never mind...I will look forward to some more info in the coming weeks.

If you check out th Dirty Music Management myspace you will notice that when referring to Mansun is specifically states "Paul, Chad, Andie and Stove" - if the band were to to come back with a different lineup they wouldn't write that & in the top friends, Mansun are their first whilst the PD/Chad/PD Fan are further down. Should be interesting - bring it on! Just hope that come February we aren't all wondering what happened to the announcement.

Okay you're right, Solveig, Paul and Chad are the main men in the band, true....but I just happen to have a personal liking for Stove.

So yeah...let's get Chad into Paul's band no matter what...that would be the greatest! Someone should start up that petition he mentioned.

I think a few people are probably reading too much into things and getting a bit too excited... We've all been guilty of it at times...

If you look at the Dirty Music website, the impression I get is that they are the management for Paul Draper and Mansun releases, not actually the non-existent band... The passage containing all four band members is written in the past tense...

But kleptomaniac is right about the Chinese Q&A, which is almost certainly a far more reliable source than some random person on the Muse forum who claims to know someone who knows someone who knows something about the band - although it is good to hear, it doesn't sound that promising really... If Chad doesn't want to do it at the moment then it ain't gonna happen is it...?! Also, if why would Paul/Chad/Andy want to reunite with Stove under the circumstances of his departure? The Q&A appears to reiterate the bad feeling over the nature of Stove's departure.

I don't want to quash everyones excitement too much, but there is nothing anywhere that actually says Mansun are re-forming etc... Just a suggestion that it isn't as impossible as we thought, which has been hyped up into this!

Just don't get too excited because you will be disappointed! Trust me, as a Mansun fan from the beginning it's something you get used to as far as news/announcements go! (And that is not a jibe at Suzi, I'm thinking more 1999/six era, waiting for news and 2002/2003 and the official site back then, etc...)

My prediction - the exciting news that is due to be announced imminently will be what we have been waiting for, for months - that Paul is going to release some solo material shortly or go on tour... Although the announcement will probably be more likely to be made at christmas 2008/new year 2009!!! :-p

Dead bands don't need management . The official webmaster posts that a Mansun reunion isn't unlikely next year and a management company on MySpace say they are managing Mansun. Either this is geuninely happening or a hoax started by Paul Draper and his own management - unlikely?

Where?!!! I can't find any posts by Suzi about a reunion!!!

Ok, the management myspace site is VERY suggestive, but I just can't help but think that that's all it is - suggestion!! Something doesn't add up!

It isn't just a case of either being genuine or some kind of weird hoax - it could just be a case of miscommunication/misinformation?!! Deliberate or accidental...! I mean, it might not be that unlikely... Stirring up a frenzied debate of "will they or won't they reunite" just before making a solo career announcement wouldn't do that much harm would it..?! More likely attract attention and generate interest!!

The original post was deleted shortly after being posted so not everyone got to see it - perhaps because the renuion isn't 100% confirmed. If this is just a method of creating hype or a buzz about a new Draper album then it's failed pretty miserably hasn't it! Not many people are talking about it or seem interested.

i don't care if mansun is going to reunion or not - if the reunion means without chad. i just want to hear the new album!
In fact, with all the bands keep reunioning recently - led zeplin, van halen, the verve, smashing pumpkins, the police, eagles...i'd rather like to see Mansun dosen't go with the flow.
but anyway, no matter what comes up next, i'll be happy as long as there's something new.
ps, but i still don't want to see stove comes back.........

And of course there won't be any Mansun reunion without Chad - I would have thought that was more than obvious.
