I just hope there's more truth in this than the PD and Chad Parrott session album claims. Surely if Mansun are to return in 2008 there will be no solo album in 2008? The 2 can't really go together.

well..hello! i'm one of those whose doing the fanzine.
to the questions above: it's still under preparation and we will put it out on x-mas, most of the contents will be in both Chi and Eng, the Q&A as well as a few Paul's new unseen pictures will be included (thanks for Suzi). i'll post a link here as soon as it's released.

1. We all know that you are interested in Taoism, so what's your opinion to eastern philosophy? Have you ever got any inspiration from eastern culture? Have you and Chad been to Mainland China before? (HK, Taiwan & Macau not included).
I've not been to mainland China, although I really want to visit Shanghai, Beijing and the Great Wall. So if there's anybody in China willing to put me up and show me round then please let me know! I go away on writing trips regularly and I'd love to come and be shown round. In terms of Eastern cultures and philosophies I think that's commonly known I have a long interest in these things. I am agnostic I suppose. I think I'm deeply spiritual and tend to gravitate to these eastern philosophies as it fits with my belief system. I read about Taoism particularly and its pre-religious thoughts. I like to absorb as much Eastern philosophy as I can, mix it up in my head with Sigmund Freud's Totemism. I refuse to vote and have no great love for democracy so it's a weird set of values I hold or am interested in. My values evolve too...
2. How is everything going with your solo project? Mansun's albums are so different from each other and always had new elements in them, so what can we expect from your solo album? Since you have worked as a producer for many artists and also have an intention to produce OST, so what kind of movies would you like to produce OST for?
I have just resumed work on my own project, Chad and Andie are doing bits on it, but no Stove as he was sacked for stealing money from the band. Oh yeah, the record! Well it's part rock, part dance, part nervous breakdown, if you could spread the word for the upcoming album then thank you!!! In terms of sound, it will be an expansion on the sonic experiments thru the 4 albums. Oh yeah, it has to be a progression but it has to be contemporary.
3. As you're already in your mid 30s, have any changes been made compared with your 20s? Still self-distructive? (we just hope that you live an enjoyable life..)
I don't go out much, I'm still cynical but philosophical as well these days. I was self-destructive in a way but I'm much more creative than destructive.
4. Are you an Internet stalker? How often do you check out the fans' posts in your forums & MySpaces? What do you feel when you see the fans are so anxious about your never-come-out new album?
I can only fit so much in, I don't see forums but I check out Myspace once in a while.
5. Was it painful when producing SIX? Cuz I feel very depressed when listening to it. Are you going to write more songs of this kind? Do you feel it's too personal and intimate or you simply don't want to go through this again?
I was clinically depressed when making Six, I can only write about where I'm at the time.
6. What's your view about the contemporary music industry and media, and those new bands?
Oh it's much more interesting now than it was a while back, the internet's liberated everything.
7. Why has Chad left the music industry? did he lose his dat tape with his solo stuff on purpose? Will he come back to the music industry again?
I heard he started his solo career but not heard any more. Andie and myself would do a new Mansun tour and album anytime, Chad doesn't want to so all the fans will have to petition him.
8. Is the speaking voice in GSOH you and Chad? What's the panting and weird voices in Cancer (from 3'30 onwards)? What’s the sound in the end of The Chad Who Loved Me? From animal?
GSOH voices are Chad. Me and Chad doing sinister laughing in Cancer. The Chad Who Loved Me sound is from a Mellotron Farmyard FX reel.
9. Would you like to travel around the world in the future, in a certain state probably like <on the road>? If you can choose a country to live for the rest of your life, which country would it be
I'd stay in England although I have a place abroad but purely for sun.
10. Have you really been kidnapped by Aliens? Could you tell us more about it?
I did get kidnapped by aliens in Birkenhead, they tried a few tests but they had to watch their alien pockets n shit. My advice to aliens, don't abduct woolieback scousers.

What?! Mansun tour?! Not been on here for ages and only came on to hear if there was any news from the solo project, due 2006!
From that interview though, it sounds like Chad's not up for it, for whatever reason.
Just hope we get to hear some new songs eventually!
